Audrey Werner and Steven Miller, two members of the Hoffmann Bird Club executive committee, will present at the May Berkshire Green Drinks event. This FREE, hybrid event will take place online via Zoom and in person at The Barn Kitchen & Bar of the Williams Inn, 103 Spring St. The in-person social gathering will begin around 5:15 PM; the presentation and Zoom meeting will start at 6:00 PM.

Begin with a cocktail hour and nature connection along the trail with Regional Director of Mass Audubon, Becky Cushing followed by a seasonal foraged meal crafted by Chef Leah of Fancy Feast Supper Club. With storytelling led by Anne Therese and Ollie from Mass Audubon’s Youth Climate Leadership, we’ll explore environmental challenges and the narrative shifts that will guide us forward.

A lecturer at the Albany College of Pharmacy and curator of their Throop Pharmacy Museum, Obos has many examples of the unusual medications and formulations that our ancestors depended on to treat their ailments. Some of the 19th century favorites were poisons and opiates. She will also tell about the tools used by apothecaries in a 19th century drugstore.
