Top-Seeded Pittsfield Baseball Blanks Minuteman

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Morrie Fried went 2-for-3 with a double and a pair of RBIs Monday to lead the Pittsfield baseball team to a 9-0 win over Minuteman in the first round of the Division 4 State Tournament at Buddy Pellerin Field.
 
Jackson Almeida was 2-for-4 with a double, and Jack Abel doubled and drove in a pair of runs in a nine-hit attack for the Generals.
 
Jason Codey and Cam Hillard split time on the mound, allowing one hit and striking out 12 between them as top-seeded Pittsfield (18-4) cruised to a Round of 16 matchup against No. 16 Frontier.
