DALTON, Mass. – Drury High graduate Olivia Perry went 4-for-4 at the plate and struck out five hitters in three innings of work in the circle Friday to lead her team to an 18-7 win in the Berkshire County High School Softball All-Star Game at Pine Grove Park.

It was a pretty good day for the North County contingent at the early-summer classic.

Before the game, McCann Tech’s Paige Rochelo and Mount Greylock’s Malia Koffi were recognized by the county’s softball umpires with their Sportsmanship Awards for the 2025 season.

“Every year the Berkshire County Board of Softball Officials votes on two sportsmanship awards,” plate umpire Tim Morey said during the pregame ceremony. “It’s probably one of the most difficult things we do, because one of the trademarks of high school softball is sportsmanship and competition.

“These athletes, by and large, are some of the best sports you’re going to run into while they’re in the heat of competition. So it’s very difficult. But the board did select two very deserving individuals.”

Koffi went on to go 2-for-4 with a two-run home run for the victorious side, coached by Lenox varsity coach Amy Pires.

Pires’ Evelyn Julieano was 3-for-4 with three RBIs in the win.

She sparked her team to a four-run rally in the bottom of the first inning, hitting an RBI triple to left field to drive in Mount Greylock’s Kaleigh Jaros, who reached on a leadoff infield single.

Hits were plentiful for both teams early on.

The designated visitors, coached by Taoncic’s Bree Goddard, bounced back after Perry struck out the side in a scoreless top of the first by scoring five times in the top of the second to take a 5-4 lead.

Wahconah’s Harper Keay hit a two-run triple, and Monument Mountain’s Lexi Carpenter had a two-run single in that rally.

After that explosion, the Team Pires pitching staff limited the damage.

An RBI groundout by Hoosac Valley’s Gracelyn Wright in the third and a bases-loaded walk to Taconic’s Kylie Duhamel in the sixth accounted for all the damage allowed by Evelyn Julieano and Jaros, who split the third through sixth innings in the circle.

Jaros got some help from her former Mountie teammate Koffi, who made a couple of plays at short to cut down two runners with the bases loaded and nobody out in the sixth.

Meanwhile, Team Pires exploded for eight runs in the bottom of the second to take a 12-5 lead.

The Mount Greylock trio of Jaros, Koffi and A.J. Pelkey each drove in at least a run, and Rochelo ripped a two-run single up the middle in that rally.

Julieano drove in a run in the fourth, and Perry singled and eventually scored on a pitch that got to the backstop in the fifth as their team built a 14-6 advantage.

It was 14-7 when Perry returned for her third inning of work in the top of the seventh.

She got the first two hitters on groundball outs, but Hoosac Valley’s Hannah Lord (2-for-3) singled up the middle and Keay drew a walk to give Team Goddard some life. Perry then effectively ended the game with a strikeout to leave two runners in scoring position.

“Effectively,” because organizers opted to play out the bottom of the seventh with the home team well ahead. That is when Koffi got her inside-the-park homer in a four-run rally to help provide the final margin.

Monument Mountain’s Andrea Paul, Hoosac Valley’s Wright, Wahconah’s Marlee Arnhold and Lee’s Brianna Lynch split time in the circle for Team King. Arnhold gave up a pair of runs and struck out two hitters in her two innings of work.
