Hoosac Valley Walks Off Win over Mount Greylock

ADAMS, Mass. – Hannah Lord singled to center with the bases loaded and two out in the bottom of the seventh on Wednesday to give the Hoosac Valley softball team an 8-7 win over Mount Greylock.
 
The Hurricanes came back from a 7-1 deficit midway through the fourth inning, finally tying the game with three runs in the bottom of the sixth.
 
Izabela Tart hit a two-run home run during that three-run rally to make it 7-7.
 
In the seventh, Gracelyn Wright singled to center field with one out. Then, with two out, Genevieve Lagess worked a walk.
 
Mount Greylock chose to intentionally walk Tart to load the bases, setting the stage for Lord’s game-winning hit.
 
Wright went 3-for-5 with a double. Tart was 2-for-4 with a double to go with her home run.
 
Wright also went the distance in the circle, striking out four and allowing just four earned runs.
 
Kaleigh Jaros took the loss for Mount Greylock in a complete-game effort.
 
The Mounties got a 2-for-3 day with a double and two RBIs from Mila Marcisz. Malia Koffi also went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs.
 
Mount Greylock (5-12) hosts Monument Mountain on Saturday.
 
Hoosac Valley (15-2) is at McCann Tech on Friday.
