Hoosac Valley Sets Rematch with Lenox

ADAMS, Mass. – Rachael Wnuk and Izabela Tart each homered on Monday as the sixth-seeded Hoosac Valley softball team beat Westport, 13-4, in the first round of the Division 5 State Tournament.

 

Wnuk went 3-for-4 with a double to go with her homer.

 

Genevieve Lagess went 3-for-4 with a triple, two doubles and three RBIs. Gianna Witek was 2-for-2 with two RBIs, and Ella Bissaillon doubled in a 13-hit Hoosac Valley attack.

 

Gracelyn Wright went the distance in the circle, striking out five and allowing two earned runs.

 

Hoosac Valley (19-3) advances to the Round of 16, where it will face No. 11 Lenox on Wednesday at 6:15 at Russell Field.
