Post 68 Legion Squad Downs North Adams

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Jesse Thompson went 2-for-2 and scored a pair of runs Friday to lead the Pittsfield Post 68 Senior 2 baseball team to a 9-5 win over North Adams Post 125.
 
Cam Reynolds was 2-for-3 for Post 68, which is fielding two American Legion Senior Division teams for the first time this summer.
 
Dylan Turner earned the win on the mound, striking out five, walking none and allowing two earned runs in six innings of work before giving the ball to Jason Fields for a scoreless seventh.
 
It was a 4-4 game until the sixth inning, when Post 68 scored three times. Fields had an RBI single in the rally.
 
Jayden Dimitropolis tripled, and Mason Rondeau drove in a pair of runs for Post 125.
 
Jameson Bayliss and Jake Gladu split time on the mound for North Adams, combining to strike out 10.
 
Post 68-2 hosts Monson on Monday, when Post 125 visits Northampton.

Rewind: June 14 through June 20

Berkshire Carousel Spins Again
 
For the first time in years, community members of all ages rode the Berkshire Carousel. The carousel re-opened with a new patio and volunteer support.  The efforts originally began in the late 2000s, and the ride hadn't operated since 2018.

'No Kings' Demonstrations Held Around County
 
Less than 20 minutes away, hundreds of people filled the side streets near the Common to protest the actions of the Trump Administration. The effort was part of the nationwide “No Kings” protest movement.
