Lenox Girls Repeat as Western Mass Champions

LUDLOW, Mass. – Katie Shove won at first singles to lead the way on Saturday as the Lenox girls tennis team beat Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School, 4-1, to win the Western Massachusetts Class C Championship.
 
Caroline Kump won at second singles, also in straight sets, as Lenox repeated its regional championship from a year ago.
 
The Millionaires swept the doubles points.
 
At first doubles, Reeva Patel and Julia Zanin were pushed in each set but prevailed, 6-4, 6-4.
 
At second doubles, Lauren Romano and Brooklyn Butler posted a straight-set win as well.
 
Lenox (14-1) is seeded 12th in the Division 4 State Tournament and will open tournament play at home against No. 21 Frontier.
